Variations on a German Folksong
Modern edition by David Whitwell

His Variations on a German Folksong, the children’s song, ‘Kommt ein Vogel geflogen,’ was first published for band and later arranged for orchestra and also for piano by Busoni. Each variation is in the style of a different composer, including Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Wagner, Beethoven, Gounod, Meyerbeer, in the style of a Viennese Waltz and concluding in the style of a German Military March.
